Course Overview
The objective of this qualification is to support a role in the workplace. This qualification is designed to allow taxi and private hire drivers to demonstrate their competencies. The units cover areas such as health and safety, customer service, transporting children, young people and individuals who require assistance, and processing fares. This qualification maps to the National Occupational Standards (NOS) for the passenger transport industry.
Course Duration
The course duration is usually 3 days per week across 6 weeks. This will be agreed with you and your assessor.
Course Duration
You must have a local council-issued taxi or private hire vehicle (PHV) licence. The licence will specify the locations/areas in which you are can operate a taxi/private hire vehicle. Before you can apply for a taxi/PHV licence, you must be able to work legally in the UK; and have held a full Great Britain or Northern Ireland driver’s licence – or a full EU driving licence together with a UK paper counterpart – for at least 12 months. Each local council in the United Kingdom may have their own requirements regarding the issuing of taxi and PHV licences, and learners are advised to contact their local council to confirm these requirements. It is advised that learners have a minimum of Level 1 in both literacy and numeracy or equivalent.

Passing the Course
The assessments will be conducted both internally and externally. Betaris will set, mark, and internally assure the quality of assessments to clearly demonstrate the achievement of learning outcomes. Highfield external quality assurers will sample the assessments.
Highfield will set and mark externally assessed question papers completed electronically. For externally assessed hard-copy question papers, Highfield will set the questions, centre staff will mark them, and Highfield external quality assurers will sample them.
Certificates
You will receive a single certificate from Highfield showing your successful achievement of the Level 2 NVQ Certificate in Road Passenger Vehicle Driving (Taxi and Private Hire), this may be an e-cert.
Destination Data
We will contact you at the end of your course to find out how you are getting on and ask you for details of the job you have secured. Please help us to collect this information, called Destination Data, as it is essential for us to monitor both your success and ours. It’s worth keeping in mind that written work is typically part of the qualification process,
with the amount of writing required increasing as you pursue higher qualifications.
This will depend on what you are restricted to do, it is a manual job where you
will be demonstrating different exercises and equipment to clients.
Once you have successfully achieved your qualification and you have received your
certificate, you will be a qualified Advanced Beauty Therapist, specialising in
massage. You can then seek employment opportunities, whether that is selfemployed
or as a PAYE member of staff.
Yes, you will receive a certificate, which may be an e-certificate. Please note that it
may take up to 12 weeks to arrive.
If your course includes any exams, it is important that you are familiar with the exam regulations and understand that they are in place to ensure valid assessment of learning. During exam times, you will not be permitted to bring any equipment or
technology into the exam room that allows you to access the internet. This includes
mobile phones, tablets, and smartwatches. We require you to arrive in advance of the exam time and ensure that you leave your equipment at the designated safe spot.
At the end of your course, you may be eligible or choose to advance onto higher
courses or additional training known as progression. Further training refers to the
