One Day Courses for the Employed

Betaris offer a range of one day courses which can be completed free of charge if the learner is living in a GL postcode and in employment. Our short courses allow leaners to gain valuable knowledge and techniques in a range of different areas which can be found below.

These courses are run over one day and are designed not to take employees away from the working environment for too long, but have fantastic effect on workforces, gaining valuable knowledge and techniques which apply to many different working sectors.

Each course is ran regularly at different training centres in Gloucester, typically Gloucestershire College or the Arc Eastern Avenue Gloucester.  However, if you are looking to enrol 6 or more employees onto one course we can deliver a bespoke course at your working location.

First Aid Awareness

This course is designed to provide learners with the knowledge, understanding and skills in emergency first aid and to teach you how to maintain good practice in the safe, prompt and effective treatment of injuries and ill health in the workplace.

Course Structure

Initial enrolment will take place, one of our friendly team members will come out for a short chat to ensure you are eligible for this FREE course. To gain the free course you must be living in a GL postcode and be employed.

If living outside a GL postcode we can always enrol you on the course for a fee – price on application.

The course will be delivered over one working day, typically 9am – 4.30pm. It  will be presented through a number of different learning methods such as presentations, role-play, demonstrations and multiple choice assessments. (Multiple choice assessment only required if regulated certificate required.)

If you require a regulated certificate from an examining body, there will be a small fee of £35 per learner.

Course Content

The Course will be made up of the following elements:

  • Role and responsibilities of a first aider
  • Being able to manage an unresponsive casualty who is not breathing normally
  • Being able to manage a casualty with external bleeding or a minor injury
  • How to assess an incident and recognising signs and symptoms of injury and illness

Assessment and Certification

The course is assessed through a range of different assessment methods including practical observations and written/oral questioning and Multiple Choice Question examinations. (Examinations are only for those who wish to obtain regulated certification).

Successful learners will receive a Certificate of Attendance or if taking the regulated pathway from Highfield Awarding Body for Compliance (HABC), the Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work (Highfield Certificated).

Introductory Selling Skills

This course is designed to give an introduction to basic selling skills, giving learner confidence, techniques and skills to be able to build relationships with potential customers or clients, in direct sales and business to business.

The Management Skills course offers a course to build confidence and structure management systems specifically towards your business. Techniques and skills gained by attending the course will equip learners to build confidence, time manage, build communication skills and plan and set objectives.

Conflict Management in the Workplace

The Conflict and Management course offers a training programme where learners are taught the importance of communication, problem solving skills, how to prevent conflict and what to do when conflict arises.

Terrorism Awareness

The Terrorism awareness course aims to build the leaners knowledge of how to see potential threats deal with emergency situations. It includes information about ‘Prevent’ 1 of the 4 elemements of contest the government counter terrorism strategy  about safeguarding people and communities from the threat of exterism, radicalism and terrorism.

Lock Down Procedures

The Lock Down Procedures Course aims to build the knowledge of how to carry out your own lock down procedure and prepare your own risk assessments. The course is aimed at all managers and employees, ideally for any employer who has responsibility for keeping others safe.
